Pike on a Spey

I just bought me a TFO Deer Creek Switch rod for my piking, and it is good to know that there is someone else out there targeting pike with a little longer rod. It's just too bad that everything within a few hours drive is still under several feet of ice. I might have to give Pueblo reservior a shot for some wiper. Some guy just caught a possible new world record there recently. Anyways, here is the link to the youtube video for Pike on a Spey.

Elk Hair Caddis

Often times, the information highway is littered with stuff that is neither useful nor serves any purpose. While there is still new things out there, I often have to swim through the debris to find it. If I only had a fly rod with an Elk Hair Caddis to tempt the cream of the crop! The link to the blog Moldy Chum has been one that I have been following for some time now, and I find a lot of stuff really humorous on there. The arthur had come across a claymation video that in itself is a work of art, worthy of the coveted "golden globe"!, well.... in my opinion.

Fall 2008 BIG Female

I was going through my hard drive and noticed that I had not posted any pictures of the 41 inch 22 pound pike that we caught back in October of 2008. A friend of mine and me were out on the water for maybe 15 minutes when he hooked into what was thought to be a log. Then it began to run, and run for deeper water. Since he was in a belly tube, the angry pike pulled him around the lake. She never showed herself until we had her in the shallows. My friend Bob, opted to keep her to get her mounted and hung on his wall, as it was his largest fish. Here are the pics!!
